Ease yourself into it and keep in mind that it’s hard work and your legs and arms might be sore after a workout, but it’s all in the name of health. Get up in the morning and get your WOD out of the way. Variety is the spice of life and that means the types of workouts you are doing, to the foods you are eating. CrossFit gyms all have routines and CrossFit exercises designed to switch things up. Focus on arms on Monday, legs on Wednesday, and cardio on Saturday. The word “diet” is almost as frustrating as the words exercise and workout. The struggle with what to eat to stay and keep healthy during the holiday season and the rest of the year is real. Sugary and fat filled foods cross your path many times a day, and it’s hard to say no when it seems like everyone else is eating the same thing. But exercise without healthy foods is a sure way to be disappointed in the end. Start your morning out with eggs and an added vegetable, which offers high protein and the fuel your body will need when you’re kicking butt at your morning CrossFit routine. Mixing in greens and eating frequent, small

meals throughout the day will allow your body to feel satisfied and you won’t pound an entire plate full of turkey at dinner time. When you are feeling down about how frustrating workouts can be sometimes (because they are), have a serving of dark chocolate to boost your mood. The food you eat doesn’t always have to be salads and water, learning how to cook and eat healthy is half the battle.
